Happy Holidays

We are wrapping up what has been a record year for Likewise! From talking to my peers,
I sense that we will be part of the minority of companies that will finish the year strongly above our plan. I’m proud of our team and how much they have delivered in the last year.

I’m also incredibly thankful for our dedicated customers and partners who have worked closely
with us to evolve our products, services, and business model. You’ll see details on some
of these evolutions in this newsletter, particularly in our packaged support offerings of Likewise Open.

I also credit our efficient open source business model for our strong year. Virtually all of our
paying customers began their relationship with Likewise by using Likewise Open. Many have
downloaded Likewise Open directly from our web site and increasingly our customers are
finding us through such key partners as Red Hat, Novell, and Ubuntu. As a result of our efficient
business model, we have been able to focus on the technical aspects of the company, compared to a traditional software company that must spend a higher percentage of revenue on sales and marketing. This difference between us and our competitors is dramatic not only in the strength of our balance sheet but also in our customer satisfaction, as we can dedicate more technical team members to our customers’ success.

Another key ingredient of our success has been high-value support offerings for Likewise Open. You can take advantage of a
great new support option. For our support customers that require our Cell Module for centralized GID/UID management, we
now offer an option for a zero-cost license for it. We’ve already previewed this with a number of our Likewise Open customers
and received very positive feedback. If you are using Likewise Open and are interested in either our support or our
Cell Module, I encourage you to talk to our sales team or learn more on our website.
