Likewise Open frees AD Authentication
Free beer, free speech, and now free authentication. We've heard from a large number of organizations that they would like a simple, inexpensive, yet enterprise-strength solution to provide Active Directory authentication for Linux, Unix, and Mac systems. This was the genesis of Likewise Open which we first released last winter. We took a huge step with Likewise Open last week when we released support of over 110 platforms including Mac OS X (and yes we support Leopard). In fact, we've had a strong surge in our Mac business as Apple is making strong in-roads back into the enterprise.
Likewise Open is available directly from our website at http://www.likewisesoftware.com/download/ and increasingly you will find it showing up in places. We’ve announced inclusion of Likewise Open in distributions from Red Hat, Novell, and Ubuntu.
Lastly we've announced a variety of support offerings from Likewise Open, which start with a 10 incident support pack. For Likewise Open customers that are interested in Group Policy, Audit, or Reporting we offer Likewise Enterprise which is a very smooth upgrade for Likewise Open users. Whether you are a Likewise Open or a Likewise Enterprise customer, our goal is to ensure that you have an unparalleled experience with Likewise.
